Takk, Iceland... Day 6

Boy did the next morning start with a bang.  Jokulsarlon - a glacial lagoon where quite often icebergs float out to the ocean before melting and is home to heaps of seals and a colony of arctic terns and lots of other birds.  This was a huge highlight of our trip.  I'll let the photos do the talking.

Having spent a few hours at Jokulsarlon we had a bit of time to make up so gunned it down the Ring Road, stopping for a photo every now and again, before arriving at Vik to search for those elusive puffins.  Still no luck.

After that we pulled in to Skogafoss, one of Iceland's most famous waterfalls, before heading off for that day's bath.

We'd read rough directions that involved a fifteen minute trek from the car park as well as crossing a small creek.  Multiple times during the walk we thought that we might've been walking in the wrong direction.

But then we were soon interrupting another couple's peaceful bath.

Unfortunately the juice wasn't really worth the squeeze.  It wasn't as warm as we'd now become accustomed to and you couldn't see a thing in the murky water as it only gets cleaned once a year and we were there right at the end of the cycle.  After a quick dip we trudged back in the cold and wet.

The day started with a bang but finished in a bit of a flop.  That night's stop was in a car park not far from the Ring Road and we'd run out of Brennivin (!!).  Yep, we'd drained a one litre bottle over the previous five nights and the booze shops weren't open seeing as it was a Sunday.  Boooooo...
